How Hanan Works
Quiet in use. Rigorous underneath.
A dependable intelligent space begins with a clear method: understand the outcome, engineer the complete system, test it carefully, document it, and support it over time.

Chapter one
Foundation and engineering choices.
Start with the local hub and management server, then select technology around the needs of the complete project, not one manufacturer's catalog.
Hanan Foundation
The Hanan Foundation is the local hub and management server at the center of every new Hanan installation. It connects, runs, and coordinates the useful things your space does, which Hanan calls experiences. Once installed, customers do not purchase it again when expanding the same Hanan system.
- Every new installation includes the Hanan Foundation
- Installed, configured, backed up, and documented by Hanan
- Designed so essential experiences can run locally where practical
Less unnecessary cloud dependence.
Essential experiences are designed to operate locally wherever technically practical, so the space remains useful even when the internet is unavailable.
What stays local
Core automations, controls, and device communication stay within the space where the design allows.
Where internet still matters
Remote access, selected integrations, updates, and cloud-dependent services may still need it. Local-first does not mean no cloud service is ever used.
The project decides the technology.
Hanan selects technologies according to project requirements and integrates them as one coherent system.
- 01Fit for the customer outcome
- 02Compatibility with the complete system
- 03Validated performance and reliability
- 04Maintainability, documentation, and replacement path
Chapter two
Validation before delivery.
Hanan Labs, Hanan Certified, and the Hanan Standard are three parts of the same internal quality system.
Hanan Labs
Hanan's internal research, testing, and validation work. Technologies, automations, and methods are evaluated before they become part of standard customer delivery.
Hanan Labs is an internal Hanan function. It is not an independent laboratory or accreditation body.
- Technologies and methods are tested before they reach your space
- What does not meet the standard is rejected or improved
- Findings feed continuous improvement across projects
Hanan Certified
Hanan Certified means a technology, automation, or method has been internally evaluated and approved for an intended use within a Hanan system.
Hanan Certified is an internal approval status. It is not a third-party, government, or regulatory certification.
- Only approved technologies and methods are used for standard deployments
- Approval considers compatibility, reliability, and serviceability
The Hanan Standard
The quality benchmark that governs every Hanan project: the practical commitments behind the promise that technology should simply work.
- 01
Outcome first
- 02
Reliable before feature-rich
- 03
Local-first where a dependable local option exists
- 04
Tested before handover
- 05
Documented
- 06
Backed up
- 07
Customer training
- 08
Expandable
- 09
Supportable
Hanan Labs and Hanan Certified are internal Hanan functions. They are not independent laboratories, government approvals, regulatory certifications, or third-party accreditation.
Chapter three
A clear path from needs to care.
Start with the five customer-facing phases. Open the full process only when you want the engineering detail underneath.

01 / 05
Consultation
Phase 01
Consultation
We begin with your needs, not a catalog of products.
Phase 02
Site Survey and Solution Design
We study the space and engineer the right system for it.
Phase 03
Installation and Configuration
We install and tune the system to the Hanan Standard.
Phase 04
Testing, Training, and Handover
We validate it, show you how to use it, and document it.
Phase 05
Hanan Care
We agree the support your space may need after handover.
See the complete eleven-step project processFrom consultation through documentation handover and Hanan Care.
- 01
Consultation
We start with your space, your priorities, and your timing, not a product list.
- 02
Site Survey
We study the space in person to understand what is practical and what it needs.
- 03
Solution Design
We design the complete system around your outcomes and the survey findings.
- 04
Proposal
We share a clear proposal covering the Foundation, your starting solution, the experiences included, and how the system can expand later.
- 05
Approval
We confirm the plan together before any work begins.
- 06
Installation
We install the system carefully, to the Hanan Standard.
- 07
Configuration
We set up and tune the experiences so they suit how you live and work.
- 08
Testing
We validate the system before it is handed over.
- 09
Customer Training
We show you how to use your space with confidence.
- 10
Documentation Handover
We hand over the records needed to maintain and support the system.
- 11
Hanan Care
We agree the ongoing support scope for maintaining and expanding your system over time.
Chapter four
Hanan Care
Hanan Care provides ongoing support after handover, which may include maintenance, health checks, updates, troubleshooting, and help planning future expansion. The exact services and support scope are agreed for each project.
No response time or service level is implied unless included in an approved agreement.
- Support continues after the system is handed over
- Documentation is kept so the system remains maintainable
- A clear path exists for growing the system later
Technology noteThe engineering tools Hanan may use when appropriate.
Hanan currently works with proven local-first technologies including Home Assistant, Zigbee, Zigbee2MQTT, and related local networking standards when they suit the project. They are engineering tools, not the customer outcome, and the final architecture depends on the site survey and system requirements.
A clear method starts with a conversation.
Tell us what you want your space to do. We'll begin with the outcome, understand the site, and recommend a practical next step.
